Slovenia and Australia are currently small economic partners to
each other, as total trade between them reached about USD 27 million
in 1999, which represents just over 0.1% of Slovenia's total foreign
trade. Slovenia exported goods worth USD 13.7 million and imported
Australian goods worth USD 13.2 million. The invisible trade in 1998
comprised USD 1.7 million of exports to Australia and USD 2.8 million
of imports from Australia.

Exports
The most important export products in 1999 were:
antibiotics (10.2%), aluminium foil (10.2%), household appliances
(7.8%), plates, leafs, films, foils and tape from plastic (7.0%),
liquid and gas meters (5.8%), heterocyclic compounds (5.5%), tyres
(5.4%), washing machines for households and laundries.
The most important exporters were:
Lek, Ljubljana; Impol, Slovenska Bistrica; Gorenje, Velenje; Plama
Pur, Podgrad; Iskraemeco, Kranj; Sava Tires, Kranj; Domel, Zelezniki;
Liv, Postojna; Delamaris, Izola; Aero Copy, Celj.
Imports
The most important import products in 1999 were:
sugar from sugar cane and sugar beet (42.8%), aluminium ores and
concentrates (15.0%) titanium ores and concentrates (12.5%), animal
intestines (10.9%), wool and fine and rough animal furs, raw animal
hides, raw goat and kid hides, other products from leather and
artificial leather.
